About Us
When Chasin' The 70's was founded, we set out to provide high-quality RV repair service.
Steve and Laurie Walters have a combined 40+ years of serving our country and their home state of Wyoming. Steve joined the Marine Corps in his teen years and after two combat missions returned home to attend the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Orlando, Florida. After working as a certified motorcycle technician, Steve's passion for serving his country couldn't be ignored, so he joined the Wyoming Army National Guard and became a helicopter mechanic one week a month and two weeks a year. Shortly after enlisting in the Wyoming Army National Guard, Steve was afforded the opportunity to work as a full-time technician for the Guard, first as a helicopter mechanic and then as a ground vehicle mechanic. After 24 years of service and several combat missions, Steve decided to retire.
Laurie began her career serving the state of Wyoming at the Wyoming Public Service Commission for 4 years and then was recruited to work as a legal assistant for a fiber optic installation company in Denver. After the .com bust in the early 2000s, Laurie found herself back in Cheyenne where she worked as a legal assistant, and then with the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services where she remained for over 15 years.
Upon Steve's retirement, the couple decided to sell their house (and just about everything else) to become full-time RVers. Their first stop was in Texas to visit family. While visiting, their refrigerator quit working. They tried to find a mobile RV Tech, but techs were all so busy they couldn't promise when or if they could get to them. Well, long story short, Steve was able to get the refrigerator back online on his own. Then they found out about the National RV Training Academy. Steve immediately saw his next opportunity to serve people by performing service on RVs on the go!
You might ask, "why a certified technician?" Well, throughout Steve's career certification and continuing education have been at the forefront and according to the National RV Training Academy's website, "When you hire an RVTAA Certified RV Technician, you can be sure they are qualified. Certification helps ensure that RV technician professionals possess the essential knowledge and skills necessary to perform critical repairs as well as routine maintenance on RVs."
As part of his certification, Steve receives continuous, in-depth training, which means he can tackle any problem your RV throws at him. At Chasin' The 70's, you can be sure your RV is in good hands.
